"Shaman's Medicine Rattle"
(12x9")
Original $600
Prints are available at 12x9" - $65

Rattles made of deer hide and wood with pebbles inside the sewn circular rawhide were used by the Native American's Medicine Man in healing ceremonies. Being part Cherokee and Blackfoot Indian, I've been fascinated by the use of native musical instruments with symbols as a part of their beliefs and healing ceremonies. This composition came to me while dreaming. Lizards represent dream time, escaping danger and leaving behind a part of themselves, such as their tail when escaping from a predator in order to move on into the future.

(The unmatted prints are printed on acid free German Hahnemuhle paper, sent in an acid free envelope mounted on foam core board.)
